The Keep

Terms of service

Last updated 12 October 2026 · Version 2.0

These terms are the agreement between you and Sigma Stronghold LLC. They are written to be understood. Where a sentence has to be legally precise it is, and we have tried not to hide anything important in the middle of a paragraph.

Today, these terms cover the website and the waitlist only. The Keep has not launched. Nothing on this site is an offer to sell, and no price is being quoted. Sections about the app apply when it opens, and we will tell you before that happens.

1. Who this is with

The Keep is operated by Sigma Stronghold LLC, a Texas limited liability company. “We” and “us” mean that company. “You” means the person using the site or the app.

2. You must be an adult

You must be 18 or older to use The Keep. It is a tool for parents and guardians, not for children.

3. The Keep is not a law firm

This is the most important section on the page.

The Keep is software. It is not a lawyer, it does not give legal advice, and using it does not create an attorney-client relationship with anyone. It can help you organise and document your own situation. It cannot tell you what to do, whether you have a case, or what a judge will decide.

Nothing The Keep produces is a substitute for advice from an attorney licensed in your state, and you should not make a decision in your case on the strength of it alone.

4. Your records are yours

You own what you put into The Keep. We claim no ownership of your documents, your logs, your notes, or anything about your family. You can export it at any time and delete it at any time.

You give us only the narrow permission we need to run the service for you — to store what you ask us to store, transmit what you ask us to transmit, and show it back to you and to anyone you have chosen to share it with. That permission ends when you delete your account.

5. What you agree not to do

6. Accuracy, and what you are responsible for

You are responsible for checking that what The Keep shows you is right before you rely on it. Documents can be misread, information can be entered wrongly, and a court order can be ambiguous. Where the product shows you where a piece of information came from, check it against your own copy of the order.

7. Subscriptions and payment

When paid plans open, the current prices will be shown before you are asked to pay, and charged on the cycle you choose until you cancel. Sales tax is included in the price shown rather than added at checkout.

Subscriptions bought through the App Store or Google Play are governed by those stores’ rules, including their refund policies, and must be cancelled there. For subscriptions bought through us, cancel any time; you keep access until the end of the period you have paid for, and we do not pro-rate partial periods unless the law where you live requires it.

8. Availability

We will try to keep The Keep running and will tell you about planned interruptions. We cannot promise it is never unavailable. Because your records live on your device, the app remains useful to you when our servers are not reachable.

9. Ending it

You can stop using The Keep and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaches section 5, that is being used unlawfully, or where we are required to. Unless the law stops us, we will tell you why and give you a chance to export your records first.

10. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent the law allows, The Keep is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will produce any particular outcome in any legal proceeding.

Some states do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, neither Sigma Stronghold LLC nor anyone working with it will be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or the outcome of any legal proceeding, arising out of your use of The Keep.

Our total liability for any claim relating to The Keep is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or one hundred dollars.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

12. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify Sigma Stronghold LLC against claims arising from your misuse of The Keep, from records you created or shared through it, or from your breach of these terms.

13. Changes

We may update these terms. If a change materially affects your rights we will tell you by email and in the app before it takes effect, and the version number at the top will go up. Continuing to use The Keep after that means you accept the new terms. If you do not, you can close your account and export your records.

14. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Texas, and you and we each consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.

Nothing here prevents either of us from seeking relief in a small claims court, or stops you from bringing a complaint to a government agency.

15. Everything else

If a provision of these terms is unenforceable, the rest stays in force. Our not enforcing something is not a waiver of it. These terms, with the privacy policy, are the whole agreement between us about The Keep.
